This is an idea that was inspired by a text roleplay that features both Ice and Fire and the classic mod Mutant Beasts. It is advised to have at least a dragonsteel sword and full netherite armor before tackling these abominations.
Verson 0.3.2
Draconic Chemical-X[]
This is what is used to make the bosses added come to life.
'Crafting'[]
In order to create Draconic Chemical X, you need any dragon blood with its matching forge and a bottle of Chemical X, the regular stuff added by the actual Mutant Beasts mod. (regular Chem-X is made by brewing a water bottle with a mutant beast weapon). You make it like dragonsteel, but with Chemical-X instead of iron. Wait about a minute and it should be ready to use.
Usage[]
In order to use it, you just need to right-click with it like a splash potion on a compatible mob. If the mob is incompatible, after 20-40 seconds it will explode with the power of an end crystal and die. If the mob is compatible, it will still have a 50% chance of blowing up. The other 50% will grant it immense power and health, making it into a true boss.
Draconic Mutants[]
If used on a classic mutatable mob like a zombie, it will be given +200 more health than the normal mutant, the attacks do x2 damage, and it will look enchanted. The weapons will do +15 damage and have 4,512 durability, having a red name with "Draconic" at the beginning. These draconic mutant weapons will also do 5 more damage to any dragon. The skeleton set will be between netherite and dragonsteel in defense and durability and grant +25% ranged weapon damage once it's all equipped. The creeper baby can be mutated to have the boss as an ally, albeit a little less powerful. The Endersoul Hand can pick up non-boss mobs such as pigs and zombies as if they were blocks. (picking up creepers is not recommended)
Mutant Ghost[]
I already have a blog post about it, but it needs an update. It has 500 health. It looks like a mutant zombie, but with no legs, a ghost head, and a ghost-like body with torn fabric at the bottom of the torso. It has a mutant skeleton ribcage housing a chest.
Fight[]
It has three phases. In the first, it can fly at you with a punch that does 16 damage with the head and torso glowing red before it starts. It can also punch at you from a distance, throwing ghost fists that do 10 damage.
Phase 2: After it gets to 250 health, it will start to levitate blocks to throw at you, dealing more damage the harder the block is. It will also summon phantasmal sword projectiles to throw at you. It will charge more often and summon 5 regular ghosts when first activated.
Phase 3: After it gets to 100 health, the ghost will temporarily become invincible while it summons 5 swords to combine them to create its mutant weapon. Once it grabs the giant phantasmal sword, it will no longer be invincible. Its only attacks will be to hit you directly with the sword or do a ranged swipe, throwing 5 phantasmal projectiles at once.
Defeat[]
When you defeat it, the sword vanishes and the ghost floats into the ground, leaving the chest, which slumps open and drops the loot before vanishing.
Loot[]
It will drop 1-5 phantasmal ingots, 5-7 phantasmal membrane, 3-12 diamonds, 0-2 netherite ingots, 5-10 emeralds/amethysts/sapphires (green/white/blue), and a Phantasmal Greatsword.
Mutant Item[]
The Phantasmal Greatsword is a hefty beast, dealing 28 damage with 1.4 swing speed (a normal sword has 1.6). On right click, the sword will shoot 3 powerful phantasmal projectiles that do 10 damage each, or with a 3-second charge by holding right-click, it'll do 25 damage to everything directly in front of you.
Mutant Cyclops[]
Mutant cyclopses lean more toward the blacksmith mythology of the cyclops rather than the shepherd that regular cyclopses express. It hovers 2 1/2 blocks in the air cross-legged with a blinded eye and missing jaw. It has four arms, hands held away from the body and diamond earrings dangle from the ears. The wrists have chains attached and the loincloth turns into a set of netherite leggings with gold accents. It now has an antler like a deer on the top of its head. It has 750 health.
Fight[]
Phase 1: The cyclopse is only holding a netherite hammer in its top-left arm and it uses 2 attacks, one has the cyclops holds the hammer in front of itself and moves it either to the left or right, summoning 5 lines of extra strong evoker fangs that get summoned from left or right. With the other one, it brings the arm back and throws the hammer at you, yanking it back with the chain.
Phase 2: At 500 health, the cyclops temporarily becomes invincible and with a magic pink swirl, a shepherd's crook with a diamond curved part and a blue eye appears in the top-right arm. Along with the other two attacks, it can now turn nearby sheep into rams, which each have 20 health and do 15 damage when they ram into you.
Phase 3: At 250 health, the cyclops's eye opens up. It's completely black except for a red dot in the middle. The blue eye in the crook turns red and the hammer is now on fire with red cracks. The leggings become netherite with diamond accents and now the cyclops has 18 armor points. There are no more evoker fangs, but the hammer now explodes on impact. The crook no longer summons rams, but it shoots stone ram heads now.
Defeat[]
Once slain, the cyclops will fall to the ground. The arms fade away and the eye glows white before exploding. It can drop one of two things: a Warlock's Crook, or a Cracksmith Hammer.
Mutant Item[]
The Warlock's Crook can launch a golden ram's head at an opponent, dealing 20 damage, ignoring all toughness. The Cracksmith Hammer does 27 damage on its own with 1.5 attack speed and sets targets on fire. You can hold right click and do an attack where the hammer gets thrown up and swung into the ground 5 blocks in front of you, dealing splash damage of 20 to anything around where it lands with an explosion sound.
Mutant Cockatrice[]
The mutant Cockatrice resembles a mix of a cassowary and a large therapod with three heads that have two lower jaws and four withering eyes each. It also has no arms. The tail has a bade-like tail fan and It has 600 health.
Fight[]
Phase 1: The Mutant Cockatrice will try to cut you up with its withering lasers with its middle head, having a dark grey swirl appear around its eyes. You'll have to pay attention to where the lasers are about to start from with a dark smoke particle that comes from the head.
Phase 2: At 350 health, the middle head dies and the other two heads will swing withering lasers at you for 3 seconds, but need about 6 seconds to recharge. Between laser charges, it will use its crests to shoot out a shockwave that vibrates the energy out of you, inflicting hunger 15 on the player for 1 second.
Phase 3: At 175 health, the cockatrice is now headless and very fast, very powerful. It will charge at you and slam its whole body into you. It will also kick when you get close enough. The cockatrice will also swing its tail at you for range.
Defeat[]
After finishing it off, a large withering eye will rise from the corpse and look at you, peering into your soul and steal your life. If you look at it for 3 seconds, the cockatrice will revive back to stage 3. If you look away for 3 seconds or defeat stage 3 three more times, the eye explodes with the ender eye ping, leaving a huge withering effect cloud around with the mutant item in the middle of it.
Mutant Item[]
It will drop a Withered Heart, which when crafted with 4 netherite ingots in the corner crafting spaces, 2 amethysts in the middle side slots, a shield in the middle, a cockatrice eye at the top, and the Withered Heart item in the bottom-middle will craft a Withereye Shield. While shifting, the Withereye Shield will wither blocked attackers with a short withering blast, causing wither 3 for 2 seconds with a cooldown of 5 seconds. Can be countered by a blindfold, however.
